This article presents an analysis of the current state of development and integration of Internet of Things (IoT) systems in Kazakhstan. The article goes on to describe a number of key projects and initiatives aimed at the digitalisation of various sectors, including smart cities, agriculture, energy and healthcare. The principal obstacles confronting IoT systems in Kazakhstan are delineated, including infrastructural constraints, the high power consumption of devices, cybersecurity, equipment incompatibility, data processing challenges, organisational impediments, financial limitations, the dearth of proficient professionals, and regulatory hurdles. For each challenge, potential solutions are proposed, including the development of network infrastructure, the implementation of energy-efficient technologies, the assurance of cybersecurity, the standardisation of devices and protocols, the training of skilled professionals and the creation of an enabling environment for investment. An integrated approach to addressing these challenges will ensure the successful development and implementation of IoT technologies in Kazakhstan, thereby contributing to economic growth, increasing the efficiency of various industries and improving the quality of life of the population.
