DATA COMPRESSION ALGORITHM BASED ON WAVELET TRANSFORMER; ANALYSIS AND IMPLEMENTATION IN MATLAB

Abstract. This article examines one of the most pressing issues in the field of digital signal processing - methods for efficient data compression and recovery. The study analyzed data compression algorithms based on the discrete wavelet transform. The audio and image compression processes were implemented in the MATLAB environment, and the influence of different wavelet types and division levels on the compression efficiency was assessed. The results of the study showed the efficiency of Dmey and DB20 wavelets for audio signals, as well as Haar and Bior1.1 wavelets for images. The proposed approach allows optimizing the processes of data storage and transmission without reducing their quality. The efficiency of the algorithm is confirmed by high results in compression and restoration of various types of signals.
